The Ministry of Planning participated, Represented by the Department of Regional and Local Development and the Directorate of Planning of Babel, At the International Forum for University Students organized by the University’s Future College in Babil Governorate to achieve sustainable development goals for the period March 26-28, 2022

The conference included a number of activities spread over its three days. The first day included the inauguration of the forum by the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Magdy, In the presence of senior officials in the governorate, representatives of the ministries of planning, higher education and education, the representative of the United Nations for human settlements HABITAT, chiefs and representatives of a number of universities and all segments of society, .

The forum witnessed a review of field marches for students of all departments in folkloric costumes that represent the history and civilization of ancient Iraq, which amount to 20 departments in various medical, engineering, humanitarian and fine arts specializations. The first day also included holding discussion dialogues for representatives of the ministries of planning, higher education and education. Dr. Essam Sabah, Director of the Department of Sustainable Development in the Department of Regional and Local Development in the Ministry of Planning, delivered a speech in which he conveyed the greetings and blessings of the Ministry of Planning for the scientific achievement of the Future University College, Referring to the ministry’s efforts to achieve partnerships through coordinating efforts between ministries, international organizations and civil society organizations in achieving sustainable development goals, Meanwhile, Engineer Khaled Kazem Al-Salihi, Director of Planning for Babel, gave a presentation on the role of the Ministry of Planning in achieving sustainable development goals at the national level through the completion of the first and second national voluntary report, in addition to the local voluntary report for the province of Babylon. These efforts culminated in the launch of the Iraq Forum for Sustainable Development on the Internet. Referring to the success stories that Iraqis have achieved in a time of challenges to reach Iraq’s Vision 2030, “The Iraqi is possible in a safe country, a united community, diversified economy, and sustainable environment, He enjoys justice and good governance.

While representatives of the Ministries of Education gave dialogues on sustainable development.

The first day included the inauguration of the exhibition of sustainable development applications, with the participation of students and professors of the college, represented by research and applications of using clean energy sources and other sustainable applications. While advanced electronic screens were spread in the corridors of the exhibition explaining the efforts of the University’s Future College in achieving the goals of sustainable development. As well as the opening of a number of events and exhibitions for various products with wide participation from inside and outside the college related to the goals of sustainable development.
