The Ministry of Planning participates in the first international scientific conference on the role of civil society organizations in achieving the goals of sustainable development, which is held under the slogan (Our Iraq is Prospering) at the House of Wisdom on 16-17 July, 2023. A statement by the Ministry stated that this conference is being held under the auspices of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers / Non-Governmental Organizations Department, the Ministries of Planning and the Environment, in addition to the Municipality of Baghdad and the House of Wisdom, and for the sixth and seventeenth days of next July, which is organized by the Visions Foundation for Education and Sustainable Development, with the participation of a number of active organizations. The statement added that the conference will include four main axes: the empowerment of women, the eradication of poverty and hunger, The second is the axis of health, the environment, clean energy and sustainability in cities. The third is the axis of peace, justice, community coexistence, and partnerships to achieve goals. While the fourth axis is education, good education, innovation, industry, creativity, decent work and economic growth. It is worth noting that the first international scientific conference on the role of civil society organizations in achieving the goals of sustainable development is attended by the Shebaad Foundation for Women Empowerment and Sustainable Development, the Nobles Humanitarian Foundation, as well as the Meeting Association for Environmental Protection and the Awtad Organization for Women Empowerment, in addition to the Iftikhar Organization for Development and Reconstruction.
